Fine Art Pet Portraits by Kellie Straw

Welcome! My name is Kellie Straw and I am a professional pet portrait artist creating custom paintings from your photographs of your dog or cat or other pet. I use acrylic paint, and work full time painting dog portraits, pet art, animal portraits, and cat paintings.
It is my goal and pleasure to capture your pet’s personality and essence with your custom pet portrait. My pet paintings are guaranteed — no pet portrait is finished until all tails are wagging! There is no risk that you will end up with a dog or cat portrait that makes you cringe.
Dog Portraits
I started painting dogs in 2007 and have since painted over 100 dogs from around the world! I have a playful and colorful, yet realistic, style that enhances the spirit of your dog in a beautiful piece of art. I paint in one style, which you can see many examples of on my Dog Art page. If you are interested in finding out more about commissioning a portrait of your dog, see my How to Commission page.
Barlow was a huge hit. It was my husband’s favorite gift of course! Thank you so much for making such a special gift. I’ll keep putting your name out there to all the animal lovers we know! Love, Love, Love.

Cat Portraits
I also paint portraits of cats and it’s fun to see the difference between a dog’s personality and cat’s personality, and how that comes out of my brush. Cats seem to be much more serious critters than dogs. You can see some examples of my cat paintings in my Cat Art section.
O.M.G!!! (squealling like a teenager . . .) It’s wonderful! It’s so fitting to have this done now because our little kitty has been sick the last several months. At first we thought it might have been the big “C”, but since we altered his diet and started giving him medication every day, he’s returning as the old feisty dude. His belly was shaved for an ultra-sound and his hair hasn’t grown back. The painting shows his furry gut again!
Thanks again,
Audrey

Selecting a Pet Portrait Artist
Most people have never commissioned a painting before, so the process of finding an artist and commissioning a painting is a bit of a mystery. If you would like a good over view of of how to find a good portrait artist and what the commission process looks like, check out my article Selecting a Pet Portrait Artist.
