Custom Portraits of Cats

Pet Portraits by Kellie Straw - Cat Art - Muffin
Hello fellow cat lover! If you have been considering getting a cat portrait either of your own cat, or as a gift, look no further. I have been a pet portrait artist and cat artist for 5 years. I paint my playful, but realistic portraits of cats using acrylic paint on professional board, wrapping the painting around the sides so that your cat painting will not even need to be framed. To see more examples of my cat portraits, please scroll to the bottom of this page.

Commissioning a portrait of your cat is very simple. I work from digital photographs that you send to me via email. I need several well-focused, well-lit photos of your cat to choose from. For more detailed information about commissioning your own custom portrait, go to my Commissions Info Page.

I do not rearrange the image, although I may crop it. I paint exactly what I see in my own, unique style. If you would like more than one cat on a canvas, that will cost a little extra. If you need some photo tips, please let me know when you email me and I can send them to you.
Next, I will look through the photos of your cat that you have sent, and select the one that I think will make the best cat painting. Not all photographs make great paintings, even if the photo is great. I’ll crop this photo, as necessary, to fit the canvas size, and send a copy to you via email for your approval.

When I am finished with your cat painting, I will take a digital photo of it and send it to you via email. I 100% guarantee that you will love your cat portrait, so if there is any little thing about it in the photo that I send that you don’t like, or doesn’t correctly represent your cat, please do let me know and I will keep at it until you are happy. Please let me know before I start painting if the cat portrait is going to be a gift so that I don’t post it to Facebook.
Once your painting is complete, I will ship it to you, usually FedEx Ground. I will give you a shipping estimate before we start, which includes packing and packaging. Most paintings are around $25-$35 to ship. Bigger ones cost more.
